Ignition exists to be a place where students can belong, be changed, and be empowered to start something with the hope of and in the name of Jesus.
We do this in three primary environments:
SUNDAY MORNINGS: gathering
Middle School ministry should provide a place where each and every student can truly belong. On Sunday mornings at 9:15am and 11am, we provide a comfortable atmosphere starting with time for students to relax, play games and engage in interactive challenges. The morning then shifts to a time of exploring, questioning and learning about what it means to love God, love people and ignite hope in our everyday lives.
Our small groups meet Sept-May on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm.
Knowing Jesus personally and forming spiritual friendships allows each of us to be changed. Our small groups create an environment of acceptance, loving honesty and biblical truth. We focus on really diving into God’s word and learning how to explore and study on our own, believing that this prepares us for a long, healthy and authentic spiritual journey.
SPECIAL EVENTS: connecting & serving
Time spent serving and playing together fosters community. These environments create space for students to be empowered in their relationships and influence both inside, and outside of the church. All are invited to participate and we encourage everyone to bring friends who may not be connected at all with Jesus, faith or church. We want to provide the environment and opportunity for students to connect with other students, and be Jesus in each others’ lives.
Understanding our unique design and purpose according to Christ and remaining focused on that path
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2
Christ isn’t part of our lives, he is our life. Or put another way, we live only in Him, through Him and because of Him
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33
The Bible matters. God’s Word is alive, and knowing it, keeping it in our hearts, striving to understand it, allowing it to guide our choices and our future matters.
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:6-9
We ARE the church, and the church brings heaven to earth. We are called to MAKE a difference in the name of Jesus
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
